About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Kubernetes Systems Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our Cyber & Intelligence division, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy cloud-native applications using Kubernetes.
  • Design and implement scalable and secure system architectures using Kubernetes, OpenSearch, and other relevant technologies.
  • Perform analysis of customer requirements and assist in determining system design plans.
  • Develop interface documentation and modeling to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Assist in generating pre- and post-deployment materials for delivery and have expertise in system design and interface organization.
  • Generate and update architecture artifacts representing the software baseline and deployment environments.
Requirements
  • Fourteen (14) years' experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Kubernetes installation and experience (Rancher/RKE/K3S based is preferred).
Desired Skills
  • Experience with large OpenSearch installations.
  • Experience troubleshooting distributed applications.
  • Basic NiFi administration.
  • Experience writing/using Salt for configuration management.
  • Experience writing/maintaining Helm charts.
  • Basic git experience.
  • Influx/Prometheus/Grafana experience.
  • Experience with Kafka distributed event store and stream processing platform.
  • Ceph storage platform.
