Job Summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a skilled RN Lactation Consultant to join our team. As a lactation consultant, you will provide expert care in lactation management according to the ILCA Standards of Practice for IBCLC Lactation Consultants. You will also serve as an expert consultant to maternal-child staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in the management of patients with complex breastfeeding problems.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
  • Conduct orientation in a manner that facilitates a positive learning environment. Incorporate organizational values/culture into the orientation process.
  • Identify learning needs of staff and assess practice gaps, comparing competencies to actual practice. Plan educational content with learner engagement.
  • Partner with the Clinical Education Market Director to review outcomes data to evaluate and refine aptitude management activities.
  • Demonstrate an expertise of adult educational theory and the ability to apply evaluation methodologies, (i.e., Kirkpatrick) into courses and curriculum to refine clinical programs.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Required
  • Neonate Resuscitate within 3 months of hire
  • Intl Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Required within two years of hire
  • Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred.
