Role Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Specialist in Progressive Care is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-focused care. Collaborating with medical professionals, the RN provides both pre-operative and post-operative nursing support. The RN acts as a patient advocate to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in status.
  • Execute procedures or other tasks as directed by the medical team.
  • Document care provided in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment utilized in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Registered Nurse license.
  • Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
