About Us:
Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) has been dedicated to providing equitable and dignified access to top-tier health care for individuals and families experiencing homelessness since 1985. Each year, we serve over 12,000 homeless individuals, ensuring they receive comprehensive health care, from preventative dental services to cancer treatment. Our dedicated team of clinicians, case managers, and behavioral health professionals operates in more than 60 locations, addressing the needs of some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Position Summary:
The role requires the ability to work autonomously while collaborating within a team framework. The employee will continuously evaluate the facility's cleanliness and maintenance requirements, promptly reporting these needs to the supervisor. Flexibility and the ability to follow directions are essential to adapt to the evolving housekeeping and maintenance demands.
Work Schedule: As needed; availability required Sunday-Saturday, including Days/Evenings/Nights, with actual shifts varying based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vacuuming, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing of floors
- Manage waste disposal
- Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms
- Ensure common areas are clean and tidy
- Conduct window cleaning
- Oversee the upkeep of outdoor spaces
- Handle snow removal
- Adhere to all OSHA regulations and participate in required safety training
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective communication abilities
- Self-motivated with the capacity to complete tasks independently
- Ability to take direction effectively
- Proficient in teamwork
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Interest in serving an underserved population
- Capability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Compensation:
- The hourly wage for this position is $22.00.
Note: Employment at Boston Health Care for the Homeless is at-will and does not include sponsorship for work authorization visas.
