The Nurse Residency Program at Jackson Hospital & Clinic is a 12-month evidence-based program designed to support new graduate RNs in their transition to professional practice. The program is built on a foundation of clinical and professional development, with a focus on providing a comprehensive onboarding experience.
Program Components- Preceptorship: Each resident is assigned a preceptor who provides one-on-one guidance and support throughout the program.
- Unit Orientation: Residents participate in a comprehensive unit orientation program to ensure a smooth transition to their assigned unit.
- Mentorship: Residents are paired with a mentor who provides guidance and support throughout the program.
- Classes and Workshops: Residents participate in a series of classes and workshops that cover topics related to clinical and professional development.
Residents have the opportunity to job shadow in various areas of the hospital before accepting a RN position. This allows them to gain a deeper understanding of the different units and services offered by Jackson Hospital & Clinic.
