Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at the Urban Indian Center of Salt Lake. As a key member of our Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI) team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive nutrition assessment, education, and support to urban Native American communities.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough nutrition assessments for patients with diabetes and other related conditions, developing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans based on assessment findings.
  • Provide one-on-one and group nutrition counseling to patients, focusing on diabetes management, cardiometabolic conditions, weight management, and overall wellness.
  • Develop and deliver culturally relevant food, nutrition, and diabetes education programs and workshops for individuals and groups.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and ensure holistic treatment approaches.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation, assisting with the collection, analysis, and reporting of program data to monitor progress and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required. Utah state licensure required upon acceptance of position.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field, 2 years of patient care experience, and certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.
