We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Host/Cashier to join our team at Ameristar Casino Resort Spa. As a Host/Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating a cash register, and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide fast, friendly, and professional service to restaurant guests and staff.
- Cash Handling: Operate a cash register, ring up sales, and provide change to guests.
- Food and Beverage Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with our restaurant menu, including descriptions, prices, and add-ons.
- Restaurant Operations: Coordinate and control the flow of the restaurant, assign stations to servers and bus persons, and supervise in the absence of the Restaurant Supervisor/Manager.
- Communication: Answer telephones in a professional manner and provide directions to guests.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Prior customer service experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Cash Handling: Previous cash handling experience a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent guest service and communication skills required.
- Math Skills: Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Language: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Availability: Available to work required schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
