Job Summary

Sycamores provides a range of equitable mental health services to diverse populations through various programs. Our focus is on delivering care to low-income, high-risk youth. As a Youth Specialist, you will provide care, supervision, and behavioral interventions that develop coping and problem-solving skills, teach social skills, and promote their transfer into the home, school, and community. These interventions will be developed within a collaborative planning process and prescribed by the program.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care and supervision to youth in residential programs
  • Develop and implement behavioral interventions to promote coping and problem-solving skills
  • Teach social skills and promote their transfer into the home, school, and community
  • Collaborate with the program team to develop and implement interventions
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or AA degree with one year of direct care experience required; two years of direct care experience preferred, OR Bachelor's degree plus one year of direct care experience preferred
  • Maintains all required licenses and certifications
  • Valid California Driver License and a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier
Physical Demands
  • Ability to physically manage and/or de-escalate consumers/residents
  • Ability to practice physical intervention for safety of consumers according to training and policy
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Frequent driving in the community with consumers
  • Frequent/continuous intermittent standing/walking, occasional/intermittent sitting
