Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist II to join our team at Sutter Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Competently perform routine and specialized radiation treatments in accordance with the treatment plan developed by the physician.
  • Work independently, exercising sound judgment, and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.
  • Gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.
  • Adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of radiation therapy and simulation procedures to cancer patients currently under treatment, according to policy and procedure.
  • Maintain and operate complex radiation therapy equipment, including documenting readings, and ordering required adjustments or repairs as necessary.
  • Ensure that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
  • Prepare for and assist physicians in a variety of radiation therapy and simulation procedures.
  • Explain and educate the patient on the procedure in a clear and professional manner to alleviate fear and anxiety.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program.
  • ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists.
  • RHTT-Therapeutic Radiologic Technology by the Radiologic Health Branch.
  • OR RHA-Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiologic Technology by the Radiologic Health Branch.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years recent relevant experience.

  • Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI).
  • Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
