Job Description

Genesis10 is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineer to join our team for a twelve-month contract position. This role will involve working 5 days onsite and will be nightshift – 12am ET-8am ET.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Data Center Services (DCS) group, ensuring seamless operations and efficient use of resources.
  • Plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain all server hardware/devices, including Client & Cisco standalone servers, enclosures, and blades.
  • Design and implement structured cable plant systems, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide excellent customer service and report progress regularly, ensuring timely completion of projects and tasks.
  • Assist the DCS team with troubleshooting server/network/storage systems, identifying and resolving issues efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including server hardware, cabling, and power distribution.
  • Experience with data center space planning, server cabinet layout, and cabling design.
  • Proficiency in structured cable design, including fiber optics and copper cabling.
  • Familiarity with data center cabling standards and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in data center operations and management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and documentation skills.
  • BS in Computer Science or IT-related field, or equivalent experience.
