Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ED Technician/EMT to join our team at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out direct and supportive patient care under the direction of licensed care providers.
  • Assist department staff by greeting patients and visitors, answering telephones, preparing rooms, and transporting specimens.
  • Independently manage ESI Level 4 & 5 patients after triage.
  • Collaborate with RNs for ESI Level 1-3.
  • Perform a standard patient assessment.
  • Initiate standing orders for adult patients.
  • Re-assess patient at appropriate intervals.
  • Report relevant patient status changes to the co-assigned RN or Emergency Physician/PA.
  • Work collaboratively with all ED team members.
Requirements
  • Must hold an active Maine EMS License.
  • Must hold current CPR, ACLS, PALS.
  • 3+ years of relative work experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time EMS experience required at Paramedic level.
