Role Summary

As a pharmacist within our Long Term Care Pharmacy, you will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, ensuring that pharmacy management's objectives are met effectively. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Accurate processing of medication orders
  • Maintaining pharmacy security protocols
  • Adhering to delivery timelines
  • Verifying order accuracy entered by pharmacy technicians
  • Ensuring completeness of all new and refill prescriptions
  • Checking drug packaging and labeling for precision
  • Preparing sterile IV medications when necessary
  • Managing inventory for controlled substances
  • Staying informed on DEA regulations and state laws regarding medication dispensing
  • Providing coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Complying with all applicable regulations, including HIPAA
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a valid pharmacist license in Virginia, with a strong preference for those with experience in Long Term Care pharmacy. Additional certifications in IV preparation and immunization are advantageous.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy is required.
