Job Summary

As a Public Safety Officer at Hartford HealthCare, you will serve as a front-line guardian to our community by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring our environments are safe, secure, and prepared for all patients, visitors, colleagues, clinicians, and physicians. You will be equipped to prevent hazardous situations with your presence, respond and manage hazardous and emergency situations, and provide support and resources when situations are successfully managed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service and ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, colleagues, clinicians, and physicians.
  • Prevent hazardous situations with your presence and respond to and manage hazardous and emergency situations.
  • Provide support and resources when situations are successfully managed.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience in service to the public or patients (public safety, corrections, first responder, military, mental health worker/technician, or other similar healthcare patient-facing role).
  • Related volunteer or degree programs may be substituted for experience based on hiring manager discretion.
  • Valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.
  • Valid CT Guard Card or documentation of submission of CT Guard Card application with expectation to receive CT Guard Card within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
