is seeking a Food Safety Sanitation Specialist to undertake the following responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of food processing environments to ensure adherence to health regulations and sanitation standards.
  • Evaluate raw materials for quality and safety, as well as finished goods for compliance.
  • Develop protocols for the safe cleaning of manufacturing equipment used in food production.
  • Research and analyze various cleaning methods, collaborating with the production team to establish the safest, most eco-friendly, and cost-efficient practices.
  • Identify and address safety concerns, investigating potential contamination incidents and any reported irregularities.
  • Create and implement metrics for sanitation processes, ensuring continuous improvement through corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure all sanitation personnel receive thorough training on Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and maintain documentation of their training.
  • Maintain a structured cleaning schedule for daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks across the facility.
  • Collaborate with management and production teams to prioritize tasks and allocate budget for essential projects.
  • Research and propose cost-saving measures that do not compromise safety.
  • Continuously seek innovative cleaning solutions that enhance efficiency without sacrificing effectiveness.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new sanitation technicians.
  • Keep updated Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals utilized in the sanitation department.
  • Review sanitation procedures for thoroughness and accuracy, conducting audits to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to the Master Sanitation Schedule and SSOPs through regular monitoring.
  • Identify areas for improvement in overall sanitation practices and recommend necessary adjustments to procedures or cleaning methods.
  • Provide support for the operation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Propose and recommend process enhancements.
  • Ensure all sanitation staff, including temporary workers, are consistently trained on required standards and expectations.
  • Document and manage reports of any incidents or injuries.
  • Work with management to uphold safe work practices, aiming for zero recordable accidents and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace.
REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline is required.

The ideal candidate will possess at least two years of relevant experience, particularly within the food industry.

Salary range: $87,235.00 to $105,000.00 per year.
Salary Unit: Yearly
