Utility Forester/Contract Arborist/Work Planner

ArborMetrics Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utility Forester/Contract Arborist/Work Planner to join our team. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in forestry, arboriculture, and vegetation management.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing vegetation management programs for our clients. This includes inspecting right-of-ways, assessing vegetation conditions, and determining required maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and computer skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work independently safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect right-of-ways to assess vegetation conditions and determine required maintenance activities.
- Assist with developing bid package maps and work manifests.
- Obtain oral/written permission from property owners to trim or remove trees and apply herbicides.
- Arrange with customers or property owners to obtain access to the property, advise of any interruption in services, explain work to be performed, etc.
- Discuss responsibility for apparent property damage, and repairs for minor damage, and refer controversial cases to the General Foreperson/Project Coordinator.
- Research easement and land rights for widths, rights, and restrictions.
- Meet with landowners to explain vegetation management work.
- Mark works in the field where required.
- Respond to public concerns and questions about the work.
- Assist in the development of public relations materials.
- Respond to contractor questions concerning work specifications and requirements.
- Document work activity using GIS equipped computer and custom work planning software.
- Inspect work completed by contractors for compliance with utility specifications.
- Assist in the management of contractors during storm restoration operations.
- Provide support and assistance on special projects as assigned by the utility.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Working knowledge of IVM, techniques, and equipment used for vegetation management.
- Excellent personal computing skills, GIS knowledge preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Sciences/Management, Horticulture, or related field preferred. Associates Degree required.
- ISA Certified Arborist or ability to obtain certification within 1 year, ISA Utility Specialist preferred.
- 2+ years of applicable work experience preferred.
RARE (less than 10%): stooping, kneeling, squatting, body-twisting, crawling, climbing poles, color vision, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, lifting over 10 lbs.
OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): sitting, manual dexterity, climbing on/off a truck, gripping, reaching, range of motion, carrying, balancing, lifting up to 50 lbs.
FREQUENT (up to 66%): standing, walking, sense of touch, seeing distant, hearing-speech range, depth perception.
CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): seeing, speaking clearly.
