Position Summary
The Business Implementation team, part of the Operations Implementation and Application Management department (OIAM), is seeking a dedicated Business Analyst. This role is pivotal in providing guidance and support to personnel within the Membership Operations department, ensuring the smooth execution of routine deliverables while proactively identifying and addressing issues.
The ideal candidate will exhibit resilience during periods of change and possess the capability to advocate for effective business processes and decisions. This individual will also be responsible for organizing and facilitating productive meetings and collaborative sessions, fostering teamwork both within and outside the OIAM department.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with management to prioritize tasks that align with departmental objectives and development goals.
- Identify and propose opportunities for process optimization and enhancements.
- Act as a System Administrator for the Market Prominence (MP) system.
- Manage various vendor platforms, including Clarity and Change Healthcare.
- Ensure the configuration, workflows, queues, and reporting within MP are maintained and updated according to Internal Support Model guidelines.
- Develop queries and reports using tools such as MS Access, SQL, and Excel.
- Create Business Requirement documents for database and application modifications, including changes to business processes.
- Assist the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) team with testing activities, including the creation of use case documentation with departmental Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Conduct thorough user acceptance testing within the department.
- Serve as a liaison with Information Systems for technical issues.
- Collaborate with the Enrollment System Vendor throughout the project lifecycle for requirements documentation, SDD and FDD reviews, and UAT sign-off.
- Facilitate the resolution of production-related IS issues and those concerning the MP system, ensuring proper documentation of issues and resolutions.
- Analyze data files and reports from various sources, raising pertinent questions and translating data into actionable insights.
- Act as an escalation point for staff, particularly regarding testing and production support challenges.
- Disseminate information regarding issues and resolutions to affected staff and departments.
- Participate in project teams and lead workgroups to deliver timely and accurate outputs.
- Keep stakeholders informed on project progress and updates.
- Provide performance and project updates to management.
- Ensure staff are informed about business objectives, plans, and production support resolutions.
- Attend departmental and organizational meetings as required.
- Prepare and present information during meetings as necessary.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant business environment.
- Experience in data management and/or analytics, with the ability to gather, document, test, and implement complex business requirements.
Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office (intermediate to advanced level).
- Strong SQL query writing skills are essential.
- Experience with MS Access or other relational databases is highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Agile and/or SAFe methodologies.
- Demonstrated commitment to flexibility and resilience during organizational changes.
- Professional demeanor in all interactions.
- Ability to foster collaboration across departments and work effectively as a team member.
- Open to providing and receiving constructive feedback for performance improvement.
