Position Overview - Insurance Underwriting Support Specialist
As an Insurance Underwriting Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Underwriting team by managing assigned accounts effectively. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire lifecycle of renewal and prospective accounts, ensuring seamless operations from submission to expiration with guidance from Underwriting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct preliminary evaluations of risk and verify the completeness of underwriting submissions prior to review by Underwriters.
- Engage directly with Brokers to gather essential account and insured information necessary for comprehensive risk assessment.
- Utilize your knowledge of specific product underwriting guidelines to support pre-analysis of submissions in preparation for the quoting phase.
- Assist in developing initial pricing structures, basic coverage configurations, and quotation packages on behalf of the Underwriter.
- Collaborate effectively with Underwriters, Brokers, Reinsurers, and internal teams to manage the workflow and status of multiple accounts.
- Ensure timely communication regarding account status to facilitate the completion of outstanding requirements for policy issuance and premium collection.
- Oversee the management of various tasks, maintaining a clear understanding of the status of activities involving Underwriters, Brokers, and Reinsurers.
- Communicate account updates to ensure all necessary actions, including premium collection, are completed for bound accounts.
- Engage in verbal and written correspondence with both internal and external stakeholders globally, considering local languages and time zones to deliver exceptional service.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in the insurance sector is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with diverse groups. Proven abilities in prioritization and time management, along with organizational and critical thinking skills, are crucial for success in this role.
