Position Overview:

The Sales Route Specialist is responsible for fulfilling customer requirements through effective sales techniques and delivering exceptional service by managing all aspects of the assigned route.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. Reports directly to the District Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Identify and engage potential customers, promote additional services or products, and ensure a profitable service mix.
Actively engage in promotional activities, training sessions, and compliance audits.
Adhere to company protocols regarding the onboarding of new clients, addressing customer needs, and all service-related tasks. Consistently meet performance objectives.
Foster customer loyalty and retention by providing exemplary service. Build rapport, communicate transparently, educate clients, address their needs, and resolve issues collaboratively with management.
Safely operate a delivery vehicle during each route, complying with all relevant regulations and company policies. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and conduct routine inspections.
Process customer payments accurately and keep route documentation up to date.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of complete service loads, collect soiled items, and maintain appropriate inventory levels at client locations. Provide service for items such as maintenance products.
Monitor and report on competitive activities. Ensure service agreements are current and renewed as necessary.
Return to the facility to offload soiled items in the designated area.
Prepare route documentation accurately and follow check-in protocols.
Follow both written and verbal instructions and perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Additional Responsibilities:
May collaborate with and assist other service personnel as directed by management.

Qualifications:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, with a CDL when required.
Maintain a driving record that is free from chargeable accidents, speeding violations, or safety infractions.

Exhibit strong skills in vehicle operation and have a verifiable history of safe driving for a minimum of one year.

Demonstrate excellent customer service and route sales capabilities.

Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to understand and follow instructions, as well as effective time management skills and a collaborative spirit.

Ability to recognize product variations and accurately perform basic arithmetic operations.

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent experience.

Travel Requirements:
Daily travel by delivery vehicle within the assigned route.

Work Environment:

  • Operating vehicles on public roadways, navigating customer locations, and loading areas of a typical service facility.
  • Indoor and outdoor environments of a standard industrial facility.

Physical Requirements:

Physical demands include sitting, grasping, driving, bending, climbing stairs, maneuvering carts weighing up to 500 lbs, lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, walking, writing, speaking, and hearing.
