Job Title: Travel Cardiac Sonographer/Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Cardiac Sonographer/Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging ultrasound examinations and providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic general imaging ultrasound examinations according to AIUM and ACR guidelines for procedures and scanning protocols.
  • Locate and image internal elements of the body, including blood vessels and organs, and identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions.
  • Responsible for providing a wide range of highly technical diagnostic exams, including but not limited to breast, abdominal, small parts, and OB/GYN.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound physics and implementing knowledge to reduce image artifacts.
  • Ensure patient safety, monitoring the patient for potentially dangerous physical and/or emotional change.
  • Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy.
  • Review patient case studies with peers and physician.
  • Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested according to department procedures.
  • Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers.
  • Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain patient charts, entering diagnosis and billing codes, logging data into patient information systems, and updating file systems for tests performed.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and workspace.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or request system repair.
  • Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures.
  • Comply with Siemens, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain equipment according to Infection Control procedure.
  • Maintain technical competency through continued education.
  • Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems. Call for service and notify all pertinent team members.
  • Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Abide by all HIPAA standards for patient privacy.
  • Abide by all OSHA standards for safety regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Ultrasound background with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience required, specifically in the specialties of general, breast, and abdomen.
  • Acuson S2000 experience preferred.
  • Experience in Cardiac is a must.
  • Valid ARDMS license.
  • Valid CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal needed.
  • Ability to interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous, responsible, professional, and ethical manner.
  • Must be flexible, reliable, and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.
