Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our team at Texas Tech University.

About the Role:

  • Establish research programs to investigate how nutrition affects the aging process and underlying mechanisms.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, both face-to-face and online.
  • Mentor MS and PhD students and assist in recruiting graduate students.
  • Develop a high-impact scholarly research program through publications and external funding.
  • Collaborate with the Human Molecular Aging Center.
  • Engage in outreach activities and perform service to the department, college, university, and profession.

Requirements:

  1. An earned doctorate in Neuroscience with experience in nutrition or metabolic health-related research.
  2. Demonstrated record of effective teaching at the college level, commensurate with rank.
  3. Demonstrated record of applying for extramural research grants, commensurate with rank.
  4. Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications, commensurate with rank.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize learning management systems, including online course delivery.
  • Research experience in studying the impact of nutrition on the aging process as it relates to neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders in pre-clinical models.
  • Demonstrated record of collaborative research projects.
  • Extramural funding received as principal investigator, commensurate with rank.
  • Peer-reviewed publications in capacity as principal author, commensurate with rank.
  • Experience mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, commensurate with rank.

Estimated Salary Range:$80,000 - $120,000 per year.
