Job Title: Crane Operator

East Coast Repair and Fabrication is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for the safe operation of stationary or traveling cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate cranes under general supervision, ensuring safe and efficient lifting and moving of loads.
  • Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
  • Repair and maintain cranes as needed, conducting pre-operational checklists and identifying any malfunctioning parts.
  • Complete job tickets, service quality summaries, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Lift, position, and place machinery, equipment, or other large objects at job sites or facilities.
  • Place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads.
  • Work with precise limits and standards of accuracy, following directions carefully and conducting safety briefs with the crew.
  • Identify hazards or risks prior to operations each day, stopping operations for any unsafe issues.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a standard apprenticeship/trade/vocational school.
  • High school diploma or GED required and 3 or more years of related experience or equivalent of training and experience.
  • NCCCO Certifications required.
  • Class B Drivers License Required, Class A preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and hand signals.
  • Ability to gain access to military installations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and eye-hand coordination.
  • Must pass a drug test and background check.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and seek help with weights over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
Environmental Conditions:

This position works on the jobsite, exposing you to hostile environments, loud noises, hazardous chemicals/fumes, and airborne particles. You will be required to wear appropriate PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, and earplugs.
