About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 2nd Class Engineer to join our team at the Massachusetts Port Authority. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the efficient and reliable operation of our central heating plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor all systems to ensure optimal performance and sustainability.
  • Inspect and maintain gas/oil fired boilers, chillers, water quality, and cooling tower systems to ensure a well-maintained and safe environment.
  • Conduct tests, repairs, and chemical treatments to safeguard water quality and system integrity.
  • Respond to critical alarms using computer-based control systems software.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read; basic oral, written, and mathematical skills.
  • Manual skills and the ability to operate machinery.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in the operation of power plants.
  • Second Class Engineer license.
