We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Facilitator to join our team at Heartland Community College. The successful candidate will provide academic and vocational support to students with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities participating in the HALO Program.
Key Responsibilities- Program Operations: Assist the Director in daily operations, including recruitment and outreach, application and interview processes, and program assessment and updates.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Process documentation and maintain accurate student files.
- Event Coordination: Collaborate with instructors to plan and coordinate experiential events on and off-campus for the HALO Program.
- Mentorship and Advocacy: Assist in the coordination of the HALO Peer Mentor program and advocate for students to ensure equal access and promote their independence and life skills development.
- Education and Experience: Associate degree or equivalent experience/education.
- Knowledge and Experience: Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, or related regulations, and experience working directly with individuals with various types of diagnoses or disabilities.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively and inclusively with students.
- Experience with Students with Disabilities: Experience working with students with disabilities at the college level.
- Mentoring Experience: Experience working with students in a mentoring role.
