Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide essential support to our licensed nursing staff, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the maintenance of unit supplies, including stocking nurse servers, cleaning instruments and equipment, ordering supplies, and making up charts.
  • Collect data on assigned patients as directed by Registered Nurse (RN) and ensure accurate competency in selected psychomotor skills.
  • Perform or assist patients with activities of daily living, preparing patients for transportation and/or transport.
  • Perform delegated tasks such as obtaining vital signs, glucose monitoring, hygiene care, ambulation, repositioning patients, sending lab samples.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and family members, documenting patient care delivery per unit expectations.
  • Assist with bone marrow aspirations as needed with physicians.
Requirements
  • Completion of CNA coursework within the past 24 months, or successful completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program, or worked as a CNA within the past 24 months, or successful completion of at least one semester of nursing clinical experiences, or documented relevant medical military training.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients.
