Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with severe weather preparations and evacuation, including rigging emergency power and emergency generator testing.
  • Install temporary power for campus special events and contractors.
  • Test electrical equipment for safety and accuracy.
  • Perform installation, maintenance, inspections, modifications, and repair of building and equipment electrical systems and components rated up to 600 volts.
  • Perform work in accordance with established safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Plan, lay out, and install wiring, components, and equipment for new construction and renovations in conformance with design drawings, specifications, and compliance with published codes.
  • Respond to service calls, troubleshoot systems, circuits, controls, panels, and switchgears, and take corrective action.
  • Trace circuits and test continuity of electrical and electronic circuits for installed equipment utilizing ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter, as-built drawings, and visual inspections.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in electrical technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical systems installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, safety procedures, and industry standards.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
