Job Summary:
Tufco is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary resource for quality issues and decisions
- Makes go / no go decisions on material quality issues
- Monitor Quality and SPC data and notify operators in real-time to make adjustments to equipment
- Proactively look for ways to improve product quality and efficiency
- Provide written and verbal communication to Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Manufacturing personnel
- Perform raw material and finished product Hold/Reject process
- Perform finished product evaluations in accordance with the TAMU criteria
- Responsible for accurate material issuing and return to stock processes
- Assist Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Purchasing in running raw material and finished product trials and experimental orders
- Participate in the training of new Quality Technicians
- Walk the floor and assist manufacturing with product, material, quality, and process or specification issues
- Gather test results and information, and use good judgment regarding quality decisions
- Retain collection, traceability, and storage
- Carry out special projects as requested by Quality Management
- Participate in Tufco's Internal Audit process
- Perform problem-solving functions as needed
Requirements:
- Proficient math skills
- Proficient with computer and calculator
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Working knowledge of Quality Windows and Statistical Process Control (SPC) data
Work Requirements:
- Trained and qualified in the operation of each of the following pieces of equipment and the associated operating procedures
- Trained and qualified in the following Lab Test methods
- Working knowledge of work orders and bills of materials
- Understands and complies with all lockout/tagout procedures
- Works in a safe and ethical manner at all times
- Is a self-starter, and works well independently and as a team
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Possesses strong quality awareness
- Strong analysis, judgment, and decision-making skills
- Organizational skills
- Mental/Reasoning
- Must possess a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and good attendance
