About the Role
As a vital member of the US GID team, your contributions will directly influence our strategic objectives and reinforce our status as a global leader in battery technology. Reporting to the energy management lead, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to assess and summarize site-wide utility requirements.
- Conducting energy data benchmarking across AESC's global manufacturing sites.
- Analyzing utility design and operational data to propose essential infrastructure enhancements, aiming to minimize capital and operational costs for current, under-construction, and future facilities.
- Working alongside colleagues to develop intricate energy models that forecast utility needs over time.
- Reviewing PFDs and P&IDs of all utility infrastructures to ensure optimal placement of metering devices for accurate energy assessments.
- Executing feasibility studies on projects and new technology implementations, including renewable energy solutions, to align with AESC's sustainability and financial objectives.
What You Will Do
- Lead Strategic Initiatives: Drive and implement key strategic initiatives within the energy management team, contributing to our overarching goal of leading in comprehensive battery solutions for a sustainable future.
- Enhance Process Efficiency: Identify and execute process improvements to boost efficiency and effectiveness within the US GID, supporting our mission of delivering innovative and competitive products.
- Global Contribution: Play a pivotal role in our global expansion by conducting energy data benchmarking and significantly reducing infrastructure energy demands, ensuring our leadership in battery technology.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to comprehend requirements, address concerns, and facilitate seamless cooperation, nurturing strong relationships that enhance our initiatives' success.
- Exhibit Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities by guiding team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment, and addressing challenges with a forward-thinking approach.
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and market dynamics, applying this knowledge to daily activities and contributing to our competitive advantage.
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven success in manufacturing environments (such as automotive and battery) and/or large-scale multi-disciplinary technical projects, demonstrating a track record of achieving significant objectives and delivering impactful results.
- Experience in HVAC, dehumidification, and exhaust systems design, optimization, and energy analysis.
- Proficiency in chilled water systems design and analysis, including cooling water loops and cooling towers.
- Knowledge in the design of utility systems such as compressed air and nitrogen.
- Experience in energy modeling, building simulation, and software tools such as EnergyPlus, Carrier HAP, and Trane Trace, with a willingness to learn and adapt to other software as needed.
- Strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to contribute to the development and execution of key initiatives, showcasing an innovative mindset and problem-solving skills.
- A global perspective, with experience or willingness to work in diverse international markets.
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment, demonstrating flexibility to meet changing business needs.
- Leadership potential, with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards shared goals, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
Nice to Have
- Desirable skills in scientific programming and database management (Python, Matlab, SQL).
- Experience in conducting techno-economic assessments of renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, and geothermal.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau.
- Advanced certifications in building simulation and energy modeling software are a plus, reflecting a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Proficiency in additional languages beyond English is advantageous for enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in cross-cultural environments, demonstrating an understanding of cultural nuances.
- Active participation in industry associations, conferences, or relevant forums, showcasing a commitment to staying updated on industry trends.
- While not mandatory, candidates with advanced degrees (Master's, PhD) in relevant fields may be viewed favorably.
- Experience in start-up environments, demonstrating the ability to thrive in agile and fast-paced settings.
