Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Branch Manager to lead our Grantsville branch. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales and business development, managing branch operations, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive sales and business growth, meeting or exceeding annual sales and profitability goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of branch staff, providing coaching, performance management, and setting priorities to ensure the branch achieves its objectives.
  • Identify customer needs through the M&T sales process, using tools and resources to assist customers with short and long-term solutions.
  • Proactively prospect and grow Business Banking relationships through outreach, building the bank's presence in the community.
  • Conduct interviews and select employees based on staffing models, ensuring the right talent is in place to drive branch success.
  • Model and coach customer service and needs determination behaviors, reinforcing accountability for execution of Retail strategy.
  • Ensure operational and regulatory requirements are maintained, including consumer and business banking guidelines, to prevent fraud and protect customer assets.
  • Take ownership of complex account servicing and error resolution issues, providing coaching and guidance to improve and reduce future problem resolution/escalations.
  • Engage with all team members and business partners as appropriate, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Independently process Business Banking loan requests up to $100,000, proactively bundling products and services as appropriate.
  • Adhere to applicable compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand, maintaining a culture of inclusion and respect.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points, as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned, exercising usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years' sales experience and two years' managerial experience or proven leadership abilities.
  • At Market Manager discretion/branch need, Life/Accident and Health Insurance licensing required within 18 months of entry into position.
  • M&T Business Banking Specialist certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of Business Banking products, services, and client relationship management.
  • M&T Way Certified and Precision Leadership Certified.
  • Bi-lingual/Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with common PC software, including Microsoft Office, and Internet and email preferred.

  • Demonstrated sales/business development experience and success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate and coach exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to communicate and function professionally with all levels of personnel and business partners across the organization.
  • Strong financial services product knowledge preferred.
  • Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
Compensation

The pay range for this position is $60,890.34 - $101,483.90 (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
