Key Responsibilities

As a Production Engineer at TotalEnergies' Polypropylene Plant, your role will involve devising and implementing engineering solutions aimed at enhancing raw material and energy efficiency, productivity, availability, and quality metrics of your designated unit to achieve plant profitability goals.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating proactively with operations team members and other departments to troubleshoot operational challenges and enhance production, quality, monomer utilization, and energy efficiency. This encompasses proposing and executing various improvement initiatives, along with documenting and monitoring these action plans.
  • Documenting various process studies and operational enhancements, including plant trial data, research findings, and monthly efficiency metrics.
  • Sharing accountability for the safety and efficiency of plant equipment and processes by addressing Safety Improvement Recommendations, ensuring adequate equipment monitoring, recommending timely preventive maintenance, and developing safe operating procedures.
  • Taking necessary actions for the safe and efficient management of projects assigned by the Monument Superintendent, which may involve investigation, consultation, procurement of materials, fulfilling Management of Change requirements, training Operations personnel, and developing operating procedures.
  • Generating ideas and supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, unit safety, and environmental performance. This includes leading and participating in Quality Improvement Teams.
  • Coordinating developmental projects across various operating units, which includes collaborating with the research team to define project parameters, making necessary process modifications, developing trial run procedures, training operators, and overseeing the safety and outcomes of trials around the clock.
  • Facilitating and/or participating in Process Hazard Analysis Studies (PHA's) as directed by the PHA steering committee.
  • Keeping plant management and supervision informed about plant and product variables, project timelines, and other pertinent matters.
  • Developing and adhering to operating procedures necessary for maintaining the site's ISO 9001 certification.
Work Environment

In the capacity of a Production Engineer, you will provide round-the-clock technical support for the assigned polypropylene production unit and associated utilities.

Your collaboration will extend to Operations, Maintenance, Technical, Research, and contractor teams to meet these expectations.
