Job Summary:

The Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst III to join our dynamic team. As a key player in our office, you will collaborate with various groups to provide strategic planning and financial decision-making support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and interpret complex financial data to inform decision-making across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial forecasts and make recommendations to department leaders.
  • Create and manage budgets to align with department goals and objectives.
  • Present clear, actionable financial insights to department leaders and managers.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance with travel and procurement policies.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data and interpret complex financial information.
  • Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply detailed policy and procedures.
  • Ability to explain complex financial reports to management.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and adapt to changes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preference may be given to current State employees.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with education in finance, business, or a related field or at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in a work-related field.
