We are seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Physician to join our team at Optum. As a Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading our team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional patient care: Conduct thorough medical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Lead and manage a team: Supervise and mentor healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest medical research and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments: Work closely with other departments, including pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Ensure compliance with regulations: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhere to HIPAA guidelines, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree: Must be a licensed physician in the state of Texas or have the ability to obtain a license prior to employment.
- Board certification or eligibility in internal medicine or family medicine: Must be board certified or eligible in internal medicine or family medicine.
- Active DEA license: Must have an active DEA license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency: Bilingual skills are highly desirable.
- A working understanding and support of a managed care environment: Experience working in a managed care environment is preferred.
