Housekeeping Specialist

Village Healthcare and Rehabilitation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Housekeeping Department as a Housekeeping Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.

• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services to ensure a smooth and efficient cleaning process.
• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions, including cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms, recreational areas, and common spaces.
• Empty and sanitize ash trays, clean and polish furnishings and fixtures, and clean windows and mirrors.
• Clean floors, carpets, and walls, and remove dirt, dust, and grease from surfaces.
• Discard waste and trash, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform isolation cleaning procedures and discard infectious waste.
• Assure residents' rights are well-established and maintained at all times.

• Works in all areas of the facility, including resident rooms, recreational areas, and common spaces.
• May be required to work beyond normal working hours, including weekends and holidays.
• May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, and staff.
• May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors.
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas.
