Design Engineer Opportunity

In this entry-level civil engineering role, you will assist project managers and project engineers in design and construction phase activities on Municipal projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting project engineers with design and construction phase activities
  • Performing basic design computations, preliminary layout, and design
  • Researching and preparing rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies
  • Assisting with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take-off estimates
  • Performing construction observation activities, including construction staking, documenting activities, measuring and testing, and interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, residents, and City staff

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college, Certified Engineer-in-Training, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire. Prior experience in infrastructure design and/or construction observation is preferred. You should possess working knowledge and skills in CAD and design software, such as AutoCAD Civil3D and MicroStation. Frequent travel during construction season is required, and a valid driver's license is necessary.
