Job Description

Job Summary:

Salud Family Health is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Women's Wellness Connection Billing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Women's Wellness Connection Program, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and organize invoices and UB 1500 Forms from subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Input data from invoices and UB 1500 Forms into Excel, maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Verify patient eligibility for the Women's Wellness Connection Program in our electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Confirm WWC vouchers issued to the level of service(s) approved.
  • Verify receipt of diagnostic imaging results in Salud's EMR according to the CPT Code on the invoice and UB 1500 Form.
  • Cross-reference facility invoices with radiology and pathology group invoices.
  • Verify payments received from the CDPHE database for appropriate CPT Code invoiced.
  • Complete adjudication of invoices/claims to their entirety.
  • Submit completed WWC billing invoices for each subcontractor to Salud's accounting department for payments to the subcontractor.
  • Research and contact subcontractors who sent patients a bill that were eligible for WWC Program services.
  • Collaborate with WWC Patient Navigators, Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, Enrollment Specialists, Customer Service Associates, and other staff to ensure patients receive high-quality integrated healthcare.
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring patients are informed and comfortable with their visit to Salud.
  • Perform random audits of certain CPT Codes as directed by the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all standards, protocols, and laws surrounding patient confidentiality.
  • Follow procedures for the electronic health records system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of billing and/or coding experience in healthcare, with intermediate Excel skills required.
  • None.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Billing and coding background required (certification not required).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to relate well to coworkers and WWC-approved subcontractor facilities and billing entities.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and independent worker.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Ability to work well with the WWC team and patient care team.
  • Fluency in English required.
