Position Overview

We are seeking a Precision Machining Specialist to join our team at Action Staffing Group. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and precision of aerospace components. The successful candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrate the following capabilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute machine setups with minimal oversight.
  • Oversee all aspects of part operation setup to ensure first article approval within designated timeframes.
  • Conduct and document precise in-process quality inspections.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements to minimize quality discrepancies.
  • Record data in visual management systems and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste.
  • Perform additional related tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of three years of experience in part operation setup on various manual grinding and honing machinery.
  • CNC/Technology/Machinist trade school certification is advantageous.
  • Proficient in utilizing Air Indicators, Dial Bore Gages, Deltronic pins, Profilometers, and plate inspection techniques, including first article and in-process inspection of precision machined components.
  • Ability to maintain required surface finishes and adhere to tight tolerances.
  • Comprehension of machine tool precision, size offsets, tool pressures, and necessary tooling.
  • Knowledge of cutting tool feeds, speeds, and optimal tool longevity for aerospace materials.
  • Capability to follow verbal instructions and interpret blueprints and quality standards in English.
  • Strong communication skills to interact positively with team members and management.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (greater weights with assistance).
  • Experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  • Reliability is essential; punctuality and minimal unscheduled absences are expected.
  • A stable employment history is preferred.
  • This position operates on the 2nd shift (3:30 PM - 12:00 AM) from Monday to Friday.
