Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Part-time Cook to join our team at Forefront Healthcare & Culinary Services in Erie, PA. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents and patients.

• Follow standardized recipes and portioning guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in meal preparation.
• Monitor and maintain food temperatures to ensure safe and healthy food service.
• Supervise and assist in the storage of food products and supplies.
• Notify the Director of Culinary of food, supply, or equipment needs.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations.

• Minimum of 2 years of cooking experience in a batch cooking, family-style restaurant, or short-order setting.
• Minimum of 1 year of food service experience in a healthcare dietary setting.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, and work assignments.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including during emergency situations.
• High school graduate or equivalent education.

The Cook will stand and walk intermittently throughout the working day, as well as reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry, and manipulate various food products, dietary supplies, and equipment. The Cook must have the ability to work with chemicals/cleaning agents and must be able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds.

Salary: $16/hour
