Key Responsibilities- Patient Check-in and Check-out: Ensure a smooth and efficient check-in and check-out process for patients, including verifying demographic and insurance information.
- Scheduling and Referrals: Schedule appointments and referrals for testing and specialist visits, ensuring that medical orders are met.
- Communication and Documentation: Document patient phone messages accurately, register and update demographic and insurance information, and maintain patient records in accordance with compliance regulations.
- Financial Transactions: Collect co-payments, post outstanding balances, and prepare bank deposits.
- Office Administration: Process interoffice mail, faxed documentation, and distribute educational supplies as needed.
- Technology and Equipment: Utilize computer systems for scheduling, registration, and record-keeping, and maintain office equipment such as phones, faxes, and scanners.
- Compliance and Quality: Ensure adherence to hospital and department policies, procedures, and protocols, and maintain a positive attitude towards patients, physicians, and colleagues.
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience: Previous customer service experience, with a minimum of 1 year of office administrative experience and customer service preferred.
- Certifications/Licenses: None required
