Job Summary:

As a Critical Care Registered Nurse at Kindred Hospital San Antonio Central, you will play a vital role in the recovery process for chronic, critically ill, and medically complex patients. Our specialty hospitals offer the same critical care patients receive in a traditional hospital or intensive care unit, but for an extended recovery period.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides quality patient care to critically ill patients through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation.
  • Serves as a patient advocate at all times, ensuring the patient's needs are met and their rights are respected.
  • Supervises the nursing care provided to each patient by other caregivers, ensuring that care is delivered in a safe and effective manner.
  • Develops the plan for nursing care as a result of coordination with the patient, family, and staff of other disciplines as necessary.
  • Applies critical thinking in order to promote positive clinical outcomes, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
  • Ensures patient education, providing patients and their families with the information and support they need to manage their care.
  • Participates in discharge planning, ensuring that patients are prepared for a safe and successful transition to their next level of care.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse.
  • BCLS certification and ACLS required.
  • Minimum one year training and experience in Critical Care.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English through written and verbal means.
