About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Data Science Engineer to join our team. This role will involve hands-on experience in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making to help shape the data strategy and drive insights from large, diverse datasets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with data and subject matter experts and customer teams to seek, understand, validate, interpret, and correctly use data and business insights.
  • Train, validate, and deploy machine learning pipelines.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and enhance customer software applications with and on behalf of customers.
  • Identify application performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations.
  • Write application specifications, tutorials, and documentation.
Requirements:
  • 3 or more years' experience solving complex problems with data science methods, software, and tools.
  • Experience with scalable Machine Learning (MapReduce, streaming).
  • Experience with Applied Machine Learning (regression and classification, supervised, and unsupervised learning).
  • Proficiency in time-series data analysis, cleansing, and normalization.
  • Software development experience with Python and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Git or other version control software.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance or higher is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent STEM fields.
  • Strong mathematical background (linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics).
  • Able to work autonomously with limited oversight from manager.
  • Ability to drive a project and work both independently and in a team.
  • Experience making moderate improvements of processes, systems, or products to enhance performance of work area.
  • Experience coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level engineers.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems that typically involve consideration of multiple issues, work areas, or specialties.
  • Knowledgeable, motivated, demonstrates a positive work ethic, and seeks to contribute meaningfully to organizational goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Existing U.S. TS/SCI Poly (CI or FS) security clearance is highly preferred.
