Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter/Butcher to join our team at SAL Acquisition One LLC. The ideal candidate will have experience in cutting and preparing standard cuts of meat, as well as excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of the Meat Manager, Store Manager, and Assistant Store Manager to ensure the meat department operates at company standards.
  • Cut and package authorized beef, pork, and poultry items according to company policies and procedures.
  • Wrap, weigh, and price cuts of meat, and label packages according to COOL, USDA, and company standards.
  • Ensure displays and case signs are updated appropriately, and meat is merchandised and presented to maximize sales.
  • May assist with product ordering and maintain proper date rotation for dated and undated products.
  • Prepare and place meat cuts and products in the display counter according to company procedures.
  • Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery, to maintain cold chain and ensure meat quality.
  • Ensure excellent sanitation and quality standards are met daily, adhering to company policy.
  • Follow and execute all company policies and procedures, including COOL, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Meat/Produce Scale operation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment with a standard temperature of 32-45 degrees.
  • Requires the ability to reach, bend, twist, balance, lift, and transport various objects weighing up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Requires the ability to move heavy product with assistance.
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, and/or move about for extended periods of time.
  • Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, and use sawing motions for extended periods of time.
