Responsibilities- Update and file patient medical records, and complete insurance forms as needed.
- Take medical histories and record vital signs, efficiently documenting medical information using electronic applications and/or forms.
- Explain treatment procedures to patients, prepare them for examination, and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments.
- Assist with wound care and cast care, handle correspondence, schedule appointments, and arrange for hospital and lab services.
- Assist with simple patient teaching: procedures, laboratory tests, medications, etc.
- Maintain a smooth flow of patients through the clinic, assist with callbacks, and authorize drug refills as directed.
- Ensure treatment rooms are equipped with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, and keep waiting/exam rooms neat and clean.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
- Certified/Registered as a Medical Assistant.
- BLS upon hire.
- Preferred: Six months clinical experience.
