Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Lawrence Spine Care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the work of our healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Update and file patient medical records, and complete insurance forms as needed.
  • Take medical histories and record vital signs, efficiently documenting medical information using electronic applications and/or forms.
  • Explain treatment procedures to patients, prepare them for examination, and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments.
  • Assist with wound care and cast care, handle correspondence, schedule appointments, and arrange for hospital and lab services.
  • Assist with simple patient teaching: procedures, laboratory tests, medications, etc.
  • Maintain a smooth flow of patients through the clinic, assist with callbacks, and authorize drug refills as directed.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are equipped with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, and keep waiting/exam rooms neat and clean.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
  • Certified/Registered as a Medical Assistant.
  • BLS upon hire.
  • Preferred: Six months clinical experience.
