Job Summary

Saint Paul Public Schools is seeking multiple Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to support our speech and language therapy programs. As an SLPA, you will work closely with a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver individualized instruction and therapy to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) by delivering individualized instruction and therapy to students
  • Assist in screening, identifying, and diagnosing communication disorders, including articulation, voice, language, and fluency
  • Provide treatment and intervention for children from birth to twenty-one years old with communication disorders
  • Develop and measure specific, reasonable, and appropriate goals and objectives for therapy
  • Conduct periodic monitoring and data collection to track treatment outcomes
  • Collaborate with the SLP and other school staff to support student progress
Requirements
  • Must hold either:
    • An associate degree from a speech-language pathology assistant program accredited by the Higher Learning Commission or its equivalent as approved by the commissioner, or
    • A bachelor's degree in communication sciences or disorders with additional transcript credit in assistant-level service delivery practices and completion of at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork experience as a speech-language pathology assistant student
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
