Position Overview

The Facilities Management Plumbing Division is seeking a dedicated Lead Plumbing Operations Supervisor to enhance our team. This division is recognized for delivering a comprehensive range of plumbing solutions. We are looking for a qualified leader who is enthusiastic about the plumbing industry and excels in team development and leadership. Our leaders are not only skilled in their craft but also possess excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to mentoring their team members.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee daily operations of the plumbing team to ensure all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
  2. Collaborate with team leads to prioritize tasks, ensuring effective resource utilization and adherence to work schedules.
  3. Develop and manage work schedules, equipment usage plans, and maintenance procedures.
  4. Act as the primary contact for plumbing service requests, ensuring exceptional customer service throughout all projects.
  5. Conduct inspections of completed work to verify compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  6. Provide training on new methods, safety regulations, and work policies to staff.
  7. Mentor maintenance personnel, assisting them in diagnosing complex issues.
  8. Maintain accurate records of time, payroll, and materials, submitting reports as necessary.
  9. Make informed decisions regarding hiring, evaluations, promotions, and terminations.
  10. Interpret and enforce departmental policies and safety regulations.
  11. Ensure compliance with budgeting guidelines and assist in preparing operational budgets.
  12. Estimate material and labor needs and monitor resource acquisition and usage.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certification as a journey worker.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree is generally required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of plumbing experience, including foreman responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of steam and chilled water systems.
  • Experience in pipe fitting and welding.
  • Familiarity with commercial plumbing systems.
  • Proficiency in various computer software applications.
  • Experience in a higher education or institutional environment.

Work Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Compensation: Salary range based on experience
