Adjunct Clinical Educator

Position Overview:
The University of the Pacific is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Adjunct Clinical Educator within the School of Health Sciences. This position is part-time and involves overseeing a group of students in a clinical setting as part of the Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing Program (ELMSN).
Key Responsibilities:
As an Adjunct Clinical Educator, you will be responsible for:
1. Supervising a cohort of nursing students in a clinical environment to ensure adherence to the curriculum set forth by the Board of Registered Nursing.
2. Engaging in various nursing specialties, including Pediatrics, Med-Surg/Gero, Obstetrics/Women's Health, Mental Health, and Public Health Nursing.
3. Facilitating the students' clinical experiences to meet educational objectives and competencies.
4. Conducting evaluations of student performance throughout their clinical rotations and providing constructive feedback.
5. Collaborating with nursing personnel in clinical agencies to foster professional relationships that enhance the educational experience.
Essential Functions:
In this role, you will:
- Participate in the orientation process for both the university and clinical agency policies.
- Review and understand the course syllabus, objectives, and evaluation criteria.
- Mentor students in developing critical thinking and evidence-based practice skills.
- Conduct post-conference discussions to debrief and enhance learning opportunities.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a nursing-related field.
- A minimum of two years of direct patient care experience.
- An active, unencumbered RN License.
- Expertise in one or more specialty areas recognized by the Board of Registered Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A BSN or a Master’s degree in nursing or a related field.
- Experience in teaching as a clinical instructor.
- Proficiency in clinical skills and simulation techniques.
Work Environment:
This position requires flexibility in scheduling based on course and departmental needs. The hiring range for this role is competitive and will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
