Electrician Trainee

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrician Apprentice to join our team at the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy. As an Electrician Apprentice, you will assist our experienced electricians in the installation and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.

• Assist in the installation and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
• Gather tools and supplies according to instructions.
• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using ruler and hand tools.
• Drill holes for wiring and pull or push wiring through openings.
• Lift, position, and fasten objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
• Perform minor electrical repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
• Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues that may arise.
• May assist with the inspection and repairing of electrical service and emergency power circuits within buildings.
• Maintain and organize supplies, tools, and equipment.
• May be assigned to serve on special task forces during periods of emergency.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of directly job-related experience.
• Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple mathematical functions.
