About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Design Manager to join our Student Affairs Communications team in Blacksburg, VA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for interpreting divisional design needs and turning them into creative solutions, delivering high-quality products, overseeing the design teams, and troubleshooting design problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret divisional design needs and develop creative solutions
  • Deliver high-quality products and oversee design teams
  • Troubleshoot design problems and provide solutions
  • Adhere to deadlines and manage divisional partners' expectations
  • Steward the Student Affairs brand and its sub-brands and assets

About the Team

You will be joining a department of creative professionals who enjoy enhancing the student experience through various marketing and communication mediums. Our team is dedicated to providing outstanding service to new students and their families, and we are passionate about creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in art/graphic design and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Previous experience in graphic art production, web-based design, proofreading, and illustrations
  • Experience using Apple hardware and software for design and desktop publishing
  • Demonstrated computer skills using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience with photography and photo editing
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience providing quality customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
