Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Materials Instruction Specialist and Lab Leader to join our team at the Minnesota Department of Transportation. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be responsible for preparing and delivering instructional materials for the Technical Certification Program (TCP) to ensure that certified technicians are qualified to sample, test, and inspect roadway materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver instructional materials for the TCP to ensure that certified technicians are qualified to sample, test, and inspect roadway materials.
  • Work with District staff statewide to promote uniformity and consistency for the Quality Assurance Program.
  • Collaborate with materials specialists, outside agencies, and other specialists to keep educational materials current and effective.
  • Lead lab sessions and provide instruction and coaching to technicians.
Requirements
  • Three years of para-engineering experience that demonstrates experience with construction, materials specifications, and field inspection practices.
  • Certification in Aggregate Production Tester, Bituminous Plant Tester, Concrete Field Tester, and Grading & Base Tester.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to give presentations.
