Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

An experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist is required to operate x-ray equipment and produce high-quality radiographs for diagnostic interpretation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiological technology and be able to position patients correctly for imaging exams.
About the Role:
This is an ongoing, full-time position working 40 hours per week in a fast-paced acute-care hospital setting. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for explaining procedures to patients, preparing equipment for use, and monitoring patients during exams to ensure their safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs as ordered by physicians
• Position patients correctly for imaging exams and instruct them on how to remain still during procedures
• Adjust the x-ray equipment and determine the proper voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph
• Explain procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have
• Prepare equipment for use and prepare examination rooms for patient exams
• Monitor patients during exams and ensure their safety at all times
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images and document exam information accurately
Requirements:
• Associate's Degree in Radiological Technology (Preferred)
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) certification (Required)
• Radiologic Tech license in the state of California (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
• Fluoroscopy license (Preferred)

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000 based on experience and qualifications. This figure includes a base salary and additional compensation for overtime worked.
