Job Description

A leading financial services company, Ledgent Finance & Accounting, seeks an ambitious Financial Reporting Specialist to join their team.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare detailed journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations to support monthly close processes and provide insights for business decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury, and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Deadlines: Meet processing and reporting deadlines to support timely decision-making and business operations.
  • Support: Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
  • Team Support: Assist the accounting manager as needed to support team goals and objectives.


Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a financial services company.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; working knowledge of GAAP; strong numeracy and analytical skills; good problem-solving and time management skills; highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Software: Experience with Concur a PLUS.
