Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Amwaste LLC. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining the engine and equipment on our waste collection trucks, providing courteous service to our drivers, and engaging with our community in a positive way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle and equipment operations problems, making repairs as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment according to standard schedules.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and equipment as required.
  • Attend safety meetings and classes to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy shop, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Weld and fabricate parts as needed to support vehicle and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of vehicle and equipment operation and maintenance principles.
  • Knowledge of vehicle and equipment diagnostics and repair principles.
  • Skills in the use of tools and equipment used in the maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in welding.
  • Skill in troubleshooting and identifying problems and devising related solutions.
